Can a Corporation be the Victim of Stalking?
Parks, Chesin & Walbert partner, Andrew Y. Coffman, argued before the Georgia Supreme Court in a case of first impression. The case pits one of the wealthiest corporations in the world, Apple, Inc., against one of its former employees.
The justices were asked to decide whether a Georgia statute that allows an employer to ban individuals from coming into contact with its employees allows a trial court to prohibit a person from contacting the employer’s workers anywhere in the world, and at every location where the corporation does business, regardless of whether the employee knows who they are. The case is Danforth v. Apple, Inc. A decision is expected before March 15, 2014.
